Planning Your Wedding Reception - Keeping Little Ones Occupied During Long Wedding Speeches

While some couples choose not to have children at their wedding, more and more brides and grooms opt to invite them along. those who do not want their children to the reception normally are afraid it might be boring at crucial moments during the bridesmaid speech.

and of course they have their place, having children at a wedding can be a problem. To keep things running smoothly for the children and their parents (and other guests), you want to prepare some activities and games to make them happy and occupied.

If you leave children to their own devices and just hope that everything will go smoothly, you're probably in the not-so-nice surprise. Most children will be bored, especially when the wedding is more formal sit-down dinner. But, if you are planning your wedding guests with a small note that you can make the reception a memorable event for them as well.

First you must decide whether to have children seated in a separate room. This will work for children aged four years and older, babies and children will usually have to stay with my mom and dad. If you choose the separate room you can just put up a coloring table and some games. Maybe even get a TV with some movies for the game.

You'll need someone who will take care of the children, if left to themselves, they will not stay long, but it will soon be looking for mom and dad. Thus, some care for children, a good ratio is one adult for every five children for small children, one adult for ten children, if they are older. Make sure you hire kids are really professionals, or the hands of children.

If children are sitting with other guests might want to nicely wrapped present, which corresponds to a decoration in any place children. This could include a small toy (under the age of the child) that can be used to occupied during the (for them) boring moments as wedding speeches. Good choices are a little coloring books, small puzzles, something that is not too big and it gives them something to do.

You can put up with the table (washable) crayons, non-sticky clay and other art supplies such as glitter, feathers and pipe cleaners. Make sure you have enough material to children will go through it with amazing speed.

You can also plan a child-specific entertainment such as clowns, balloon-artist, someone who paint their faces or apply removable tattoos. You will need the extra space where children can enjoy the entertainment without disturbing other guests.

Another possibility that children would be happy to integrate them in the wedding activities. When the dance was going on, you can ask the DJ to announce "kids only" dance for example. They will be happy and grandmothers and aunts (and proud parents, of course) will love it!

So, with little preparation before the wedding can be a fun experience for kids and adults!
